Words to live by from Mr. Emerson

This is one of my favorite literary quotes. It also obliquely ties in with Lucy learning to live with the same intensity clarity with which she plays Beethoven.

Mr. Emerson says a friend of his wrote this. I wonder if EM Forster is actually referring to someone real??)
