] I'm really annoyed because Carey did a reading here in New York a couple of weeks ago, and I only found out about it the night it was on...so I missed it. I'm interested that he liked the movie ending. In some ways I think it's more satisfactory than his ending - it does give us something to be happy about, and explains the knowledge of family history better.
I have to admit that I've grown to like Armstrong's ending. You're right, I left the theater happy (well, kind of), and it does explain the narrator's knowledge of O&L better. I had to see the film again to appreciate it.
