Wow, what interesting comments.

I hope this doesn't gross people out, but I find a kind of eroticism in this scene. It is like Lucy has in a very horrifying way been awakened to what it means to have a body -- both death and sex have suddenly become real to her.

I'm not by any means saying that waking in George's muscular arms is the most significant thing about this scene...that would really trivialize it. But I am saying that becoming truly aware that you are a creature of the flesh, could be a kind of spiritual crossing.
