I tend to conveniently "forget" about Mansfield sometimes! ;-)

How about : Henry's chain being too small to fit through Fanny's cross, but Edmund's fitting perfectly? Fanny getting an almost humorously modern "headache" when Mary Crawford rides Edmund's horse? Which is the only one Fanny can stand to ride? All of the plot points in Lovers' Vows that manifest themselves in the "real life" plot of the novel?

Maybe that (and not Miss FP) is why I like Mansfield least of all; too much symbolism for my simple, pragmatic brain to handle! ;-)
