...unlike Cheryl (or was it Nora?), I don't always require a "happy" ending, just a "believable" one. In fact, sometimes I feel almost manipulated by a badly-done, pat, happy ending. But I guess I just got so wrapped up in the realtionship between Oscar and Lucinda that the ending was a sad shock, and my initial reaction was "That isn't fair".
But then, of course, life itself is rarely fair!
