After all that time of working through their relationship and getting
to the point where they loved each other and could almost say so, I
was TICKED OFF when Oscar went south on us at the end. Per Kate's reply to
one of my earlier posts, Oscar IS sort of an anti-hero and has none of
the things that would make us normally swoon or thing of him in terms of
a classic hero. But geez, did they have to strip away the ONE thing that
he was doing right (understanding and loving Lucinda)? I think I might
even have thought it was a good book if I hadn't read the ending. Well,
maybe not, but I wouldn't have written it that way (nor am I a highly paid
and published author!!).
