She gets better?

if we agree that she is initially weak, does this lead to strength through the course of the story?

God I hope so. I tried to read it this fal, but I just couldn't. I swear, I usually push my way through books, but Middlemarch just made me want to scream. Anyway, I'm determined to read it, so I've put it off 'til the summer, when I don't have anything else to think about. If she does start to get stronger as the book goes on, than maybe I'll find it easier to read.
