] I don't know if anybody else is aware of this great book but I recently read Far Pavilions, and I recommend it as one of the best romance books with a great deal of essence. It's a period book that takes place in India.
Shadow of the Moon is the book that MM Kaye wrote before she wrote The Far Pavilions. It is a romantic fictional book that also takes place in India during the uprising in 1857. I highly recommend it (it is also in the recommended reading area.)
She has recently published the second part of her biography called "Golden Afternoon." I just ordered it and am waiting for it to arrive. I read "Sun in the Morning" which is the first part of her autobiography and it is excellent. I think she is planning a trilogy of her life, so there is one more part of this autobiography to look forward to.
I just had to reply because M M Kaye is my favorite author after Jane Austen.
