] I think it depends upon the namer's motives. Are they being altruistic, naming for your benefit, or are they naming for a selfish purpose, as Oscar's father is.
I agree, Cheryl. Except, although Oscar's father's motives are selfish, I don't think he realises that, do you? Its like he doesn't know any other way to operate, he only knows the scientific way to express himself. He is a passionate man with little understanding of his passion?
