Horrible movie

] I recently saw the 'Northanger Abbey' movie from the 80's (Is that the only one?) and I saw something kind of weird. Why was everyone standing in a pool-type thing with their huge dresses on? I've never seen or heard of a thing like that before. Was it common in Bath?
I think i saw the same movie, and basically i think it was
quiet offensive. Something out of the seventies. The music
was horrible and the character didn't seem quiet like the book, especially the actress who played Catherine MOrland.
