Kate, here are my 2¢ ---
(though you may certainly filter this based on my participation tendencies) ;-)
Your question put at this time has me thinking this way -
I just finished my first time read of Oscar & Lucinda. For me to really get into and feel like I have good stuff to add to the discussion, I will have to do some major rereading, if not reread the whole thing as we go through the schedule. With the 45 chapters for the first week, this is unlikely for me. So, for my style, a somewhat slower discussion read schedule would probably work better.
But, then again, that's just me. :-)
