Austen & Crabbe??

Hi all -- I haven't been posting for awhile, since school has started up again & I'm swamped as usual. However, something caught my attention recently that I wondered about. I was going to ask this on Austen-L, but since it's down due to the storm I though someone here could possibly answer...forgive me if this isn't quite the correct place to post it!

I was reading an assignment for a graduate lit course in the anthology titled "English Romantic Writers" ed. David Perkins. In the intro to George Crabbe it says, "A list of some of his other admirers, down to the end of the nineteenth century, quickly indicates that they have been select and diverse: Wordsworth, Byron, ... and Jane Austen (who thought it would be pleasant to be Mrs. Crabbe). [emphasis mine.] I know I haven't read all the biographies or letters, yet this is the first I'd heard about her liking (let alone thinking it 'pleasant' to marry) George Crabbe!

If anyone has any other info about this, please share!

Sara
