Have you read Emma Thompson's Golden Globe acceptance speech for Best Screenplay (for S&S) which she did in the style of a diary entry by JA? (It's in the S&S screenplay and Diary)
"Managed to avoid the hoyden Emily Tomkins who has purloined my creation and added things of her own. Nefarious creature."
I suspect that if JA were to watch the adaptations they might go too fast for her! (Like my parents trying to watch shows overly influenced by MTV) We are trained now to process information much faster (and be much more stressed by it!)
