] ] What is the most twisted book you have ever read. . . . My point is that I like really messed up books, ie The World According to Garp, when I don't really want the think. at least they keep me entertained. Any ideas????

How about Das Schloss by Franz Kafka? But it requires thinking, so much incredible thinking, but I guarantee you it's worth every ounce of grey matter you evince. Also, I read all of Faulkner and the list above. They, too, required some thinking. Ah! have you read The Sound & the Fury by Faulkner. What a read!
