Catherine Morland... in Emma?

A thought struck me yesterday as I was reading Northanger Abbey: Does anyone else think that the personalities of Catherine Morland and Harriet Smith are at all similar? I know that they were both raised very differently... but if their "positions" in life had been the same, is it possible that they would've acted a lot like each other? I'd be interested in hearing anyone's thoughts...
