] ] On the new Emma FAQ, Kali mentions a Clueless-type adaptation of Northanger Abbey called Ruby in Paradise, starring Ashley Judd. Has anyone seen it? Should I try to track it down at my local video store?

] ] (Being as Ah'm in the South, I might could find it, if it has one of them Judd women in it.)

Ruby's boyfriend really turns her on to books, and one of the ones she reads is Northanger Abbey!!! She's browsing his bookshelves, and he pulls that one out and says that he thinks she'll like it (and maybe seeing Catherine in her). Later, she defends the novel and Catherine; it's a neat scene because, even though her boyfriend is more educated and well-read, she sticks up for her opinions. This similarity aside, I don't see Ruby and her boyfriend representing Henry and Catherine overall, and this scene is a very small part of the movie.
