] I've been trying to find someone who saw the movie to hear their opinion of it. I'm thinking of purchasing it. None of the video stores where I live carry it. Was it a good representation? Does anyone recommend it?

Okay, I'll start off by saying that I liked the movie and taped it when it was first shown on Masterpiece Theater and have watched it at least more than 5+ times. Since I only purchase a tape if I think I will get more viewing out of it than I would spend in rental costs -- [squint eyes shut to do math - - ka-chink* ka-chink* $3.50 x 5 viewings = $17.50]

If you can find it for say $19.99, I would say buy it. Of course if you don't want to risk your cows becoming barren...... (see Valerie's curse below ; )

If you aren't sure you want to spend money after reading all the comments here, put in a request to your video chain or perhaps try to do an interlibrary loan??? A university library might have it also.

Also keep your eye on the TV schedules. A&E recently showed it late night in conjunction with one of their JA marathons. If I can find my original copy from Masterpiece theater next time I visit my parents, I may have a commercial-laden, A&E-edited copy to get rid of.....
