This line, uttered in all its innocence and sincerity, is also one of my favorites. How could Henry resist? This whole conversation is wonderful; thanks for saving me the trouble of posting it! And I agree with you about Austen's "feminism" (although she, of course, would not have used that term).

So do I! And I love the fact that, unwordly as she may be, she has definite opinions and enjoys this discourse with Henry and Eleanor as much as they do.
