ONLY if you have the time and inclination, would you consider posting some sort of brief synopsis of the plot of Udolpho for those of us who did not have the fortitude to make it through the entire book?? Or is there some sort of summary elsewhere? I don't remember finding one when surfing around Rof P.... But please refuse if you don't want to do this, since I suspect you have better things to do with your life than Cliff Noting Mrs. R! : )

] when I replaced MY cheap paperback, I discovered it had been abridged! So I got to read the story again new, and it made a lot more sense!
Horrors! Mine claimed that it was unabridged, but I like my new version where I know the inconsistent spellings are at least historically accurate. I do still like my tacky 1968 romance cover with the hero and heroine (who has too much makeup) standing together in what looks like a Paris sewer.
