I woke up this morning wondering whether Henry Tilney was really the man that JA would have wanted to marry, and I would have rushed to the computer to ask this here, but I had to go to work!
Henry is so different from her other heroes, so likeable and down-to-earth, that I too had been wondering whether he was based on someone JA knew or whether he was the ideal that she never met.
But MB's suggestion puts another twist on it. Interesting....
