In response to ending up with the nice one...*spoiler*, written by Haley on January 02, 1998 at 14:41:08
] So how did he end up with a sweetheart like Catherine? Aren't the nice guys supposed to wind up stuck with Isabellas?
Perhaps Tilney's age is a clue to his freedom or 'strangeness'. Most of JA's good guys seem to be the mature fellow in the flannel vest - not a 25-year-old. But perhaps Catherine is a little too unformed (or uninformed?) to interest a Knightley or a Brandon. I have to admit when Tilney assumes a 'simpering expression' and does the expected courtesies of asking Catherine how she enjoys Bath, I have to agree while I laugh, "why are you so strange?"
