Happy (civil)* New Year.
For all of you with children from the age 5-10, it might be worth checking out the Moomintrolls of Tove Jansson (Bookserve has them).
We started our spate of reading them aloud shortly before X-mas, and are now well into the second book. My youngest (age 3) find them boring, she doesn't have a clue to what they are about, but the oldest (age 5) sits totally still, completely engrossed by the "terror and suspense" of the story (don't worry moms and dads, nothing that Moomin-mummy and Moomin-daddy can't handle).
The first book (The comet) and the very last (don't remember the title, but it is somewhat overly metaphysical) are not ideal for the young ones, but the rest are great.
Just in case anyone here wanted a new idea for "read-aloud-books".

Tilde

* The "civil" part is for Ayalet and every body else whose civil and relgious year does not align.
