] Not "How does one say Northanger" but how do you pronounce it?
] Do you say
] 1.North-Hanger, with a nasal 'g' as in 'hang'?
] 2.North-Hanger, with a hard 'g' as in 'anger'?
] 3.North-Hanger, with 'g' as 'j' as in 'ninja'?
] 4.North-anger, as #1., but without the extra 'h'?
] 5.North-anger, as #2., but without the extra 'h'?
] 6.North-anjer, as #3., but.....?
] 7.Nort-hanger, as #1., but splitting the 'th' ?
] 8.Nort-hanger, as #2, so it sounds like a Norwegian Fjord?
] 9.Something quite different?

]
] Just curious !I can justify almost all of these pronounciations by comparing it to other English place-names. I tend to use #5.,and I have a feeling JA would have said #2.But what do you say?
