]Please tell me you've read the book first. The book is so wonderful and it's so great it doesn't deserve to be placed next to the movie. MP is my fav JA book, because JA as a way of telling the story that a movie could never tell correctly, especially in this novel. It's mostly her thoughts which isn't presented well acted out. Your mind is the best movie theater and nothing is good compared to it! MP made me laugh, cry, everything! I challenge you to read it and then say you don't like it, but don't judge a book by it's movie.
My sister had already read the book and explained to me that the novel dwelt extensively on Fanny's thoughts and feelings which are as you pointed out, hard to show on screen. I have every intention to read the book, as I have to read all Jane AUsten wrote. I've been reading her letters, which are fascinating since they're from real life, not from fiction.-KAREN L
