American Female Writes in JA's Age

I can't recall who wrote this query and on which board it appeared but some wanted to know if it is possible for JA to have read any American female authors. I said I'd check butr couldn't really find any fellow novelists. Much to my surprise I found a source today. American Women Writer to 1800 ed. by Sharon M Harris lists four American women fiction writers all born within twenty years of JA's birth. They are Susanna Haswell Rowson, Anne Eliza Schuyler Bleeker, Hannah Webster Foster, and Tabitha Gilman Tenney. I hop this anwers the question.
