It was less stressed in the movie than in the book, but do you recall the scene where Willoughby has left, Marianne goes to her room in tears, Mrs. Dashwood angrily accuses Elinor of being oversuspicious and goes to her room in tears, and then Margaret, when Marianne will not answer or take the tea Margaret has brought, also gets upset and goes to her room in tears--? This leaves Elinor sitting upon the staircase drinking the tea herself while everyone around her is sobbing in solitude.
