] I just got a book certificate, and have no idea what to get!! I am thinking about trying out Fanny Burney. Any thoughts? How about "The Children" "The Reef" or "Summer" by Edith Wharton? Are any of them happy endings? I would really like to know if Fanny Burney is worth trying out. I need a new author, and it would be great if someone knew who she was.

Nora - The Reef is probably my favorite EW! And, while I refuse to give away the ending, I will tell you that EW usually bothers me with her "poor little woman-victim who can't seem to get her act together at all"
