] cried at the Captain's proposal letter. I still get a thrill over me every time I read, "...with a heart even more your own than when you almost broke it eight and a half years ago." I declare I almost start to cry just thinking about it.

________

I just bought a big hardback book with all of Jane Austen's novels and Lady Susan -- I wouldn't have bought it (since I already have them all of course!), except that it was remaindered for a $1 and it had some illustrations by one Hugh Thomson, which were probably done about the same time as the C.E. Brock illustrations I have on my web-pages (you can see a little "95" or "96" in the corner of some of the illustrations, and he kind of makes the Regency costumes look a little bit 1890's in a few of the illustrations).

These are probably all the ones I'll scan in:

[Carriage Departure Scene]

[``Placed it before Anne'']

[``Put round her shoulders by Mr. Crawford's quicker hands.'']
