] As to this being great literature, I 'm sure it is. It's stood the test of time and has taught many a scrooge a valuable lesson but one that comes to mind is one I heard recently on tv. An industrialist and his wife attended a reading of A Christmas Carol by the author himself and on the ride home the husband leans over and says to his wife " Next year we will close the factory on Xmas Day" Now THAT is great literature.

Ok, now you are all going to know that I am really an unreconstructed Scrooge at heart...

But what I want to say is - big deal for closing the factory on Christmas day. How does he treat his workers the other 364 days of the year?

I suppose one of the things that irritates me a little about ACC is the focus on the DAY - everyone is nice to everyone at Christmas, people give donations to charity at Christmas etc etc - when doing a little of the same for the rest of the year might improve other people's lives considerably more...

or is that just my innate cynicism speaking?
