I'd have to go with 'something in between'. Having read so much since the last time I had picked up this book, it seems a bit tiresome at times...but then there are those moments where the story grips you and makes you think. I still shudder with the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come. And, in a different way, I shudder at the saccharine ending.
It's a mixed bag, but I think, at the core, it's great literature indeed--no work is without flaws. (ah, except, perhaps, Pride and Prejudice...but that's a whole other message board, right?)
