] Jane looked after the Gardiners' children while they traveled. Of all the babysitting options we know about, I'd guess Jane is the only caretaker they'd trust. (Mrs. Bennet could probably do it, but not without great distress.)
Except that they left them in London when they came to Longbourne for Christmas without much worry - presumably with a governess?
