] Well, it's een awhile since I re-read. But Bertie Stanhope, if I recall, is just as silly as his sister Madeline, "la Signora." There are many laughs at the expense of various Barchester Clergy. Good heavens, think of the Reverend Obadiah Slope! (Actually I try not to!)
] And there was Mr Thorne with his somewhat laughable preoccupation with the Good Old Days.
And Dr. Fillgrave also! (such an appropiate name for a physician, isn't it?) He does ridiculize men as often as women.
