I am not a critic, nor am I a reviewer, nor a scholar. However, I think Jane Eyre's time has past too.
Mr. Rochester's manipulations just make me angry these days and I get no enjoyment form the story at all (though I did think that the recent adaptation did a good job of conveying the annoying story to the screen).
