If you tend to read only the top few posts on the page, you may have missed the fact that there is a fascinating discusion going on about whether Andrew Davies was faithful to Austen in having Lizzy say "Only the deepest love would induce me into matrimony"

Ann has just written a super post on the topics of "balance" in Austen's ideal relationships, and also on modern romanticism.

Because I don't want it to get lost down there I'm going to link it here so people can read and respond to it.

I'd be grateful if you'd post any response HERE rather than down there - that thread is getting impossibly long and unmanageable!
