Just one clarification....most women dressage competitors nowadays do not ride sidesaddle.
I myself ride dressage and have never ridden in a side saddle, nor do I know of any who does. Even at
the Olympic levels women ride astride. It would be
difficult to do all the movements when not riding astride.
Side saddles, to the best of my knowledge are only for
novelty these days.
