I once attended a Bardic Circle. The rules are, each participant recites or sings a piece of their choice (folksong, verse, original work, whatever); no one makes any critical or side comments.

It happened that one person said, "This is a Latin hymn I like," and sang. Then the very next person offered another Latin hymn. It was either there, or when the third person in a row did the same, that despite the rules, from my lips irresistibly broke the words

"I wasn't expecting the Spanish Inquisition!"
