An Austen blooper?

In Chapter 33 of P&P, when Fitzwilliam is telling Elizabeth about how Darcy detached Bingley from Jane, he says that the reason he assumes it was Bingley that Darcy has saved from a bad marriage is because he knows they were together "the whole of last summer"
But Bingley doesn't take Netherfield until "before Michealmas" (early autumn).
And that summer is the summer in which Georgiana's almost elopement takes place, so Fitzwilliam should know that Darcy didn't spend the WHOLE summer with Bingley - he must have spent SOME time with Georgiana after that affair - and would have wanted to keep her away from Bingley, so they couldn't have been together.
What they did do was spend the whole of the AUTUMN together.
What do you think?
