Please can the committee give us a ruling? The b-word seems so appropriate for certain Austen characters and comments (and other literary figures: I used it myself on someone in Tom Jones a week ago). I agree, it's out of line when used personally. But some people seem to find its usage unacceptable. So can we have an authoritative statement? Just so I know I'm within the borders of Pemberley good taste... ;-)
