] I'm quite a Fanny fan too--haven't really been able to understand why I shouldn't like her. However, I am an ardent Crawfordite; I however welcome any discussion over this wonderful (except for the bum ending) book.

I am not a Fanny fan, having just recently finished reading MP for the 1st time. However I am able to appreciate the significance of Fanny as a character who is different from other Jane Austen characters. On a personal level, I think Fanny is a prude. But on a logical level, I can understand her decisions. And I do admire her ability to maintain her opinions under duress. I just don't agree with her opinions.

I think if the ending were more fulfilling that I might feel differently about Fanny. I feel like I was shortchanged from seeing how Fanny would respond to the reciprocated love of Edmund.

I agree that MP is a very interesting book to discuss. It seems to create a much more passionate discussion because people have such varied emotions about Fanny.

I look forward to a lively MP chat, either now or in the future.
