] ] ] .... but some people have a tendency to confuse the two. :-)

] ] You mean Jane Austen didn't write in wonderful detail about the wetness of Darcy's shirt after his dip? The glorious translucsency of the linen on certain places of his chest and shoulders?

Uh, what page number was that again?

] ] No, really, Janet, we can contain ourselves; or we'll give it a good try.

] I am afraid I must agree with Janet. There IS a tendency to confuse the two. But, I suspect that even if we set up a special board strictly for the Novel read, the adaptations would still sneak it. We really can't help it. When you have a production of the quality of P&P2 of your favorite novel, how can you NOT let it color your perception of the novel?

] We are forever ruined. :-(

Oh, no! Tainted by association! :-)

] Seriously though, I have always looked upon the adaptations as just another carefully considered opinion. (P&P0 doesn't count!) I know that the opinions and thoughts expressed here at Pemberley have forever altered my perception of the novel. I look upon that as a good thing. Wouldn't you agree? :-)

Well, of course, that would depend if the opinions and thoughts coincided with mine! :-)
