In response to Mansfield Park, written by gkb on December 01, 1997 at 21:19:04
] ] Why aren't there any discussion groups devoted to Mansfield Park or Northanger Abbey in the rebublic?
] I, for one would be happy to discuss some of the threads and themes of Mansfield Park. I have less to say about Northanger, no offense intended--just that it is the least polished of the works, and I am particularly interested in the theory that Austen repeated certain words to reinforce certain motifs. I have not found much word-repetition in Northanger.
Hello again gkb.
As you may have gathered by now (or not!) we have been around for a while... there has been one organized conversation about MP on this board quite recently, and people occasionally post about it, which you are welcome to do.
However, at this point we do not have plans to have another MP discussion for a while. I hope you will however, post anything you would like to, although I warn you that the Fanny wars can be set off here with the slightest encouragement!
