After reading your suggestions and some of the replies the books that appeal to me would be:
Tom Jones (it would be nice to see how closely they stuck to the book)
Tennant of Wildfell Hall(one of my all time favourites!!)
Gone with the Wind(after some of the things that have been posted on other boards I think that the discussion of this could be really interesting!!)
The Handmaids Tale or Alias Grace(The discussions on these could be really intersting as well and I love Margaret Atwood!!)
But it might also be nice to read something that I wouldn't otherwise choose!!
