Of course you are all right. I guess the problem I have is that JA doesn't really tell us much about Darcy's thoughts and feelings. It's very one sided to EB and my problem is that I just fill in the blanks myself (and I really shouldnt). Maybe I didn't see him as arrogant as I should have. I thought he softened up after the initial meeting.He at least had an interesting though irritating personality that could verbally duel with her. He was more appealing to me than that oily Wickham. But I admit the issue with her sister should have totally angered her and since the proposal followed so closely after, there's no way she could accept him.( It also sets up the second half of the book so beautifully)
