] Despite Fanny's lack of action, I like her. I like her a lot! She may be a bit of a wimp (Lizzy she ain't) but she always remains true to her principles which is more often than not more difficult and heroic than confrontations.

Anne P -- I also like and admire Fannyl. I have liked her since my 3rd or 4th reading of MP, when I forgave her for not being Elizabeth Bennet! :-)

In fact, with all the novels except P&P, it took me two or more readings to appreciate the heroines. MP & Persuasion took me the longest, but now I love all the books and all the heroines -- although P&P and Elizabeth are still my favorites.
