] I was never surprised by Elizabeth's attitude--nothing makes my eyes glaze over faster than formal poetry.
It has taken me a long time to appreciate poetry. And even now, I still don't like overblown "love" poems; they make me squirm.
I could never fall in love with anyone who insisted on reciting the stuff to me (unless perhaps he shared my affection for Dr. Seuss or limericks).
Dr. Seuss, indeed...
I would not like them here or there.
I would not like them anywhere.
I do not like sisters Bingley.
I do not like them, no siree!
