In response to Wickham on Darcy and Lady C (1940 P&P0 spoiler), written by Carolyn B on November 23, 1997 at 11:45:24

] I just noticed on reading chapter 16 that Wickham describes Darcy (& Georgiana) and Lady C. in much the same way to Elizabeth. (ie, everyone says they're good but really they're proud, arrogant, etc.) So if later Lizzy finds that he misled her about Darcy & Georgianna, what about Lady C?

Well, Lady C demonstrates her self-importance every time Lizzy encounters her. Darcy OTOH sends mixed signals, and Georgiana is clearly shy.
