In the discussion about portraits below, there is some discussion about Darcy smiling. I was reminded on my re-reading, that Darcy smiles A LOT, particularly when he is talking to Elizabeth... something that may or may not be absent from the various adaptations, depending on whether you think CF is actually smiling at various points...
But I think it is a good reminder that he is not as all out grouchy as it is easy to think of him as before Pemberley...
