] I was never surprised by Elizabeth's attitude--nothing makes my eyes glaze over faster than formal poetry. I could never fall in love with anyone who insisted on reciting the stuff to me (unless perhaps he shared my affection for Dr. Seuss or limericks).

I agree, I prefer something like The Cremation of Sam McGee or The Shooting of Dan McGrew
