Understandable, though

In response to Is Elizabeth's visit to Netherfield justified?, written by Constanza on November 21, 1997 at 13:02:07
] Isn't Elizabeth's reaction on hearing of Jane's illness really justified? I mean, she has to walk through muddy fiels in order to get to her, and it is a rather long walk. Doesn't she overreact? I think Bingley's sister are right here!
Whether or not Jane's illness justified Lizzy going to Netherfield, I think it's perfectly understandable. Throughout the book, Lizzy often goes for long walks, so I don't think the distance meant much to her. Also what was the alternative? Surely a visit to Netherfield would be more interesting than sitting around Longborn, IMHO.
