Is Elizabeth's visit to Netherfield justified?

Isn't Elizabeth's reaction on hearing of Jane's illness really justified? I mean, she has to walk through muddy fiels in order to get to her, and it is a rather long walk. Doesn't she overreact? I think Bingley's sister are right here!
